The Friendship Shelter in Laguna Beach

South Shores Church is supporting Friendship Shelter in Laguna Beach. This is a year-round shelter and rehabilitation facility to homeless adults.  They provide a full complement of rehabilitative servies to those most in need and address the many interrelated problems of homelessness.  To date more than 10,000 people have participated in a Friendship Shelter program, and each night nearly 100 homeless people sleep safe, warm and cared for.

Volunteers and donations are crucial to the success of this ministry.  South Shores Church is joining with our community to support the compassionate work in Laguna Beach to serve the less fortunate amoung us.

Please drop off your gracious donations of personal size toiletries, individually wrapped snack food items, and men and women's clothing, socks and shoes, lap blankets and bath towels...to name a few...to the Compassion Ministries table on Sunday or the church office!  The shelter is always in need of larger items and or quantities of certain items that we would prefer be dropped off directly to the shelter. Please visit the Compassion Ministries table in the church Narthax, the church office or download the flyer Here for more information and a donation list.

Contact Terry Lambrecht (714) 679-0228 or tlambrecht@yahoo.com for more information and if you would like to help!

Meals Ministry

This wonderful group of Christians enjoy providing physical and spiritual nourishment to others. It is our privilege and joy to provide meals and visits to members of our church when a need arises.

The Meal Team Ministry is designed to provide dinners for members of the congregation on a temporary basis to assist them during times of stress, which may include recovery from surgery or illness. Needs of families and or individuals will be assessed and the members of the Meal Team Ministry will be notified of any possible dietary restrictions and arrange deliveries.

If God has given you a heart to provide for those in need and you would like to join this valuable ministry please feel free to contact me anytime!

Prayers & Squares ~ Quilting Ministry

Prayers and Squares is an international organization that South Shores has joined for the purpose of reaching out to hurting people with the gift of prayer and a quilt.  Anyone may request a quilt for a person in need.  The quilt will be made and tied with many threads and be available on the patio. People may sign a card, tie a square knot and say a prayer for that individual.  It will then be delivered.
