No Better Time Than Now
Summer has come to South Shores Church and we are starting a new series in the book of Psalms called No Better Time than Now. The book of Psalms is really, a library of psalms – 150 different writings, many different authors and grouped into five different collections, called “books”.
For the last three summers we have done selections of psalms from the first three books, the first 89 psalms. And now we are in Book IV.
In the psalms the finite encounters Infinite. Limited approaches the Limitless. We are reminded of our days, which pass away, and our years, which end too quickly all while staring up at the One who contains all eternity in His grasp. So, what shall we do? Psalm 90:12, our theme verse, says, “Teach us to number our days that we may get a heart of wisdom.” Notice time, notice how little we have and how important God is. Help us to understand our limitations so we don’t waste time on the wrong things, but instead that we might seek God, seek His wisdom and seek the promises He declares in His Word. In the grand scheme of things, we don’t have a lot of time; so let’s begin this summer, let’s begin today: there’s No Better Time than Now.
