Day 2 - God Has the Power to Comfort

It’s been a busy day here at Everest VBS. We’ve been learning about God’s power to comfort us. We started the day with a sick Trek who was in need of some powerful comfort to help him feel better.Throughout the day, we learned that God has the power to comfort us so that we can comfort others.

Bible Story: God speaks to Elijah (1 Kings 19) Elijah hides from a windstorm, earthquake, and fire. He is then comforted by God’s presence in the form of a soft whisper.

Key Verse: 2 Corinthians 1:4 He comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort others.

Character of the day: Cliff our Himalayan Long Tailed Marmot Imagination Station: We had a fun time creating Bubble Blowers. The soft, flowing bubble ropes are a reminder of God’s comforting power!

Glacier Games: We moved through an obstacle course made up of climbing ropes. These strong ropes remind us of God’s power to hold us firm as we hold on to Him.

Mountaintop Treats: After a busy day of playing we took a short break to refuel with our delicious Rock Rambler’s Parfait.

KidVid Cinema: Twins Ben and Same share God’s love by sewing soft, colorful stuffed monsters for kids who are hurting. How can you share God’s love and comfort others today? The kids are watching for ways that God is working through the week.
